This is a small town located in Uttarakhand situated at an attitude of 7,500 ft above sea level. From Mukteshwar you can easily take the view of the captivating snow capped mountain ranges. Other ranges which you can see here are Trishaul(Shiva's Trident), Neelkantha (Blue-throated Shiva), Nandaghunti (the Veil of the Goddess) and the Panchuli Group.

Apart from the scenic mountain ranges Mukteshwar is famous for its beautiful orchards, old colonial bungalows and dense coniferous forests.

Prime Attractions of Mukteshwar

Mukteshwar Temple : It is an attitude of 2315Km devoted to Shiva, a white marble lingam with a copper yoni. Apart from this there are six idols of Bramha, Vishnu, Parvati, Ganesh, Hanuman and Nandi surrounding the lingam.

Chauli ka Jali : This is lattice-work around the rock. According to legends a barren women came and touched the lattice that was blessed with a baby. Along with this there are faint outlines of a sword, trunk of an elephant, a shield that bears testament of a battle fought here between a demon and a goddess.

Indian Veterinary Research Institute : Here you will a museum, library and department for research, genetics, department for research and bacteriology.
