The capital of Himachal Pradesh well known as the Summer capital of India discovered by Britishers. Till 1864 it was part of Nepalese kingdom. After Independence Shimla become the capital of Punjab but later on declared as the capital of Himachal Pradesh.

• Chadwick Falls : This is beyond the Summer Hill and 7-km west of the ridge from Shimla. This Chadwick Falls is 67-m aquatic spectacle.
• Chapslee : This was originally built in 1835 representing the comfortable elegance of an English Country.
• Christ Church and St Michael's Cathedral : this is the most prominent building on the mall and is reputed to be the second oldest church in the northern India. It was designed by Colonel JT Boileau in 1844, but consecrated only after 1857.
• Churdhar Sanctuary : This sanctuary got its name from the Chur Peak, on the top of which sits a majestic status of Lord Shiva.
• Gurkha Castles : You will find these castles in sirmour,Shimla,Bilaspur and Solan that remind us the life and time spend under the Gurkha regime.
• Hatkoti : This is stone temple, 105-km east of Shimla, in Jubbal Tehsil on the banks of the river Pabbar. Tourist visits this place throughout the year.
• Karyali Lake : This Lake lies on the northern side of the peak of Chhoti Shali in Shimla district.
• Kotesvara Temple : This is magnificent structure temple dedicated to Shiva who is represented there in the form of 'Shivalinga'.
• Mahatma Gandhi's Retreat : This magnificent mansion, majestically standing close to the 'Administrative Block' of Himachal Pradesh University at Summer hill. Earlier it was the house of Late Raj Kumari Amrit Kaur, a veteran freedom fighter and close associate of Gandhiji and the first Union Health Minister of India.
• Shirigul Temple : This is one of the oldest and important temples of Shirgul situated on the Chur Dhar Peak.
